Sacred Spaces

As part of our Nativity Dynamic Parish outreach during the current pandemic - we are encouraging families to set aside a "Sacred Space” in their homes - a home altar or prayer area, if you will.  A place where individuals and families can go to pray or to participate in the live streaming of mass!  Our world has been turned upside down by the current “lockdown” and it is hard to create routine and stay focused on our spiritual life.  Although we can not gather for mass at this time, we can create a mass environment that gives glory to God.

Continue to give your time to the Lord and pray for an end to the spreading of this virus.

** Please send a photo of your “Sacred Space” to [email protected] so that we can post for others to see (no names - only photos!)

Ideas for

When creating your home’s Sacred Space consider how it will be used.

If your family will use it to watch mass, set up chairs and an altar type atmosphere.  Add some throw pillows on the floor for kneeling and accommodate for the device you will use to view mass.

If this will be a private prayer area, then maybe a comfy chair is appropriate with a reading lamp.  Or a kneeler of some sort.

Here is a list of other items you may want to incorporate into your Sacred Space:

  • Crucifix
  • Bible
  • Icons
  • Rosary Beads
  • Statues
  • Spiritual Books or Meditations
  • Candles
  • Medals or Scapula
  • Religious Art
  • Chalice and Ciborium
  • Prayer Cards
  • Flowers or Plants
  • Holy Water
